  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • When I have work to do I tend to enjoy the programme, however this is not always the case.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The University work is well structured and presented with deadlines. However, the work that is set by Unilever can be hard to come by, and when you do have some it can be difficult to learn how to complete these tasks from those around you.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • The employer as a whole are fantastic and I cannot say there is a downside to working for Unilever other than the lack of work I have received as an apprentice. It is my belief that they have allowed too many apprentices to join.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Support from the OU is easily accessible. You are assigned a module tutor and an overall tutor who occasionally comes into the office for face to face discussions.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • So far, I do not believe that I have used many of the skills, or much of the knowledge gained through the qualification in my actual work. Though this could be down to the lack of work set by Unilever.

    6/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are plenty of activities to get involved in through work such as football, yoga, an onsite gym.

    9/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Unilever to a friend?
  • No

  • 9b. Why?
  • If they were fully qualified and had experience in IT then my answer would be different. But I would not recommend my apprenticeship scheme due to the lack of work I have had, bad experiences with different teams and the lack of opportunities with Unilever following the apprenticeship.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • Don't be afraid to move to other teams that take your interest, it is important to experience new specialisms and to not waste time if you are having a bad experience in another team.
