  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Over my time completing my Level 2 apprenticeship, i have learnt and developed a range of skills. The skill i have most developed on is my communication. When i started this apprenticeship, i did not like communicating via the phone and with people i had not met. My boss helped me with this and by communicating more often and getting involved in other areas of the business, my communication has improved greatly. I have also learned the importance of administration within a business and that being organised is key. My organisational skills have greatly improved over this apprenticeship as well.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed completing an apprenticeship programme. It gave me the opportunity to learn new skills whilst working and earning money. It also gave me the opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. I have really enjoyed working with my team as they are all lovely people who have supported me throughout my apprenticeship. The apprenticeship has met all of my expectations and helped me grow as a person

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The majority of my apprenticeship has been really organised, especially from the side of the company i am working for. The college side was less organised due to me being the first person being put onto the new Level 3 standard for the Business Administration apprenticeship. There have been some issues with this due to incorrect information being provided and the college not being sure how to deliver. However, the process has now been smoothed out and should be easier to run in the future.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has been amazing at supporting me through the apprenticeship. They provided lots of ways to support the 20% off the job learning by offering opportunities such as supporting other departments. They also supported me with developing relevant skills that i needed to learn and supporting me with any coursework i was struggling with.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider has been rather supportive, more so towards the end of the apprenticeship. Because it was a new course with no previous process to use, the beginning of looking into EPA was not the best as there was a lack of understanding. However, once more information was obtained and the EPA process was reviewed, they were much more supportive. I have had 2 assessors over the process and the 2nd was more willing to support and taught in a way that i better understood and responded to. They were essential to getting the extra support and understanding the process. Overall, i have enjoyed the process.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification has really helped me perform better in my job role as i had no previous experience working in a office role. It helped me learn the skills and techniques required to work in an administration role and gave me the opportunity to see how different departments operate. The skills i have learnt have helped me with securing a permanent job role at the company and have given me transferable skills that can be used for most job opportunities.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I have had the opportunity to get involved in a range of extra curricular activities. We have a sports and social club on site which hosts a range of sports clubs and offers different social events. I sit on the committee for this and have helped with organising events and supporting the clubs we have. One of the clubs i really enjoyed was the Tae Kwon-Do club we had which was great for keeping fit. We also run a familys day and bonfire event yearly.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Roke to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Roke is a really supportive company to work for. They really car for their staff and everyone is friendly and more than willing to offer assistance. They have great opportunities to develop skills and have ways of meeting new people within the business, developing interpersonal skills. My skills and knowledge have developed greatly since working there, and there is always opportunities to learn more. They also consider corporate social responsibility which leads to new opportunities for the business.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Roke?
  • I would offer the advice that you need to be willing to learn new skills and knowledge in order to apply. You also should be willing to express ideas and be confident in the decisions that you make. It is a really good company to work for and i would say be yourself when applying.
