  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role involves helping out in various different projects around the account I work on. There is excitement around the fact that the work I do often changes and my tasks can be different daily/weekly which helps to learn and gain skills in many different ways. General things for me to do are helping out in general processes such as placing orders, analysing documents etc.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme a lot. A main reason for this is I am given the independence I would like but at the same time help is always there for me when I need it. The employees are all always willing to help and are cheerful people. The programme in general is how I expected to be when signing up.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • From as soon as I entered I was told of how my two years would be planned to be. was informed of the style of working at Fujitsu, how the company works etc. A week later I had a induction day which allowed me to meet more colleagues and fellow apprentices which was great. Some time after I had a meeting with my training provider who set a clear plan for me which I have been and still a following.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer as a whole is ready to help me whenever needed. I have always felt welcomed and am often asked if there is anything I need in terms of support. I have good relationships with my fellow colleagues as well as manager etc. My manager communicates with me frequently which gives me a chance of raising any concerns or for me to get any support I may need.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a skills coach who was given to me by my training provider. My skills coach has around 2 meetings with me a month to check my progress and to give me help in areas I may need more support in. My skills coach is also easy to get in touch with and is willing to help.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • My role as a project manager is massively influenced from the work I do as part of achieving the qualification. This is because as I learn about the key skills of being a project manager I have the chance to carry them out on my day job. The team I work with are supportive and are happy to help me use skills from my off the job learning.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There is often events available for us to attend. A few I have taken part in are charity events to raise money for a charity partnered with the organisation, charity events with people from different areas of the company to discuss what we all did to raise money etc. I have also had the opportunity to have meetings with fellow apprentices, leadership team members, business events.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Fujitsu to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Because I feel it is a great place to be as an apprentice. This is because I am given the time to study as well as learn as much as I can on my day job. There is always help and support when needed and we still be given independence.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Fujitsu?
  • Advice I would give is be yourself throughout the application process. Try not to be nervous before/during interviews as the company and people here are great to be around and not intimidating. Before joining I was a little worried due to not being in a company like this before, I wish I had known there is nothing to be worried about and that I'd be welcomed so warmly.
