  • I am an international logistics and transport planner. I am reponsible for planning and despastching deep sea export loads from Nestle UK to 151 other countries. • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have been able to develop my ability to maintain good stake holder relations. I reguarly speak to shipping lines, contacts from other Nestle markets and contacts responsible for direct customer despatches. My communication skills have blossomed during my time with this team. It is also essential to maintain good working relationships with your internal stake holders.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • My programme has been incredibly transformational, It was definitely the right choice for me. I am so glad that Nestle have given me all the opportunities that I have had. I have enjoyed working here so much so that I can't see myself leaving anytime in the near future.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is structured well. You are left to fend for yourself a lot of the time but I think this is very beneficial, if this was not the case I don't think you would feel like you were as valuable to the business. When you need support it is always just a skype/email away!

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Really it is entirely up to you. In my experience whenever I have needed anything my employer has been there. But equally the support is not forced on you. It is always there if you need it but as I said in my previous answer, for the most part you are left to fend for yourself.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Currently on our 2nd training provider. Much better than the first, I still feel like some support is lacking. It almost feels like you are just being pushed through the academic side for the sake of it. I have enjoyed my time on the block release college weeks but feel like this is definitley the area where there is the most room for development!

    6/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Personally not a great deal. I don't consider myself someone who gains a lot from academic study, I find that I do the majority of my learning on the job. I have taken some knowledge away from the study weeks but it is rare that I find myself applying this knowledge in the workplace!

    5/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Lots of opportunity here. There is always a night out to go on, team days are frequent and there are various sporting teams to be a part of. Proffesional networking is also common place. Nestle do not fail to dissapoint in this area, you can grab as many opportunities as you want!

    9/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend Nestle to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Nestle is the world's biggest food and drink distributor. Working for them gives you a frontier leading insight into the FMCG world and experience for life that can be applied anywhere! I cannot reccomend it enough and I hope I have the opportunity to build an illustrious career with this company!

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nestle?
  • Be yourself. I cannot echo this point enough. Nestle do not judge you on academia or what you think you should be. They look at each indiviual and what strengths they would bring to the business. Be yourself and come across as organic and you will put yourself in the best standing for getting a job!
