  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I am part of the Graduate recruitment team and focus in recruiting the London Surveying graduates. I am part of the wider HR team, but focus on Graduates only. I organise the entire recruitment process, including assessment centres to interviews, screening applications etc.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes I learn new skills daily and manage to relate them to my work. As my role is specialist, it is great to learn about the business model and HR in general. I take on more responsibility as my role grows, so am learning constantly.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the programme and as I feel as though it is manageable, but also I am learning a lot, which I hadn't yet thought about.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My manager is great at ensuring that I am on track and understand both my needs and that I am working towards the apprenticeship goals. Without the business support, in ensuring I have the time and resources, I would be unable to complete this.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • A lot. I am able to ask questions and have constant help. I am given the time I need and offered extra training etc. to support my learning.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Less support from the training provider. I am not always able to contact them and don't feel I know the people there as it is a distance learning course. However, I am fine in my work and able to pass assessments.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It definitely helps me in my role, giving me background of both businesses and the role of HR within the business. I am more knowledgeable about my function within the business and the impact I have. Being able to amend my role to be most effective.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes, probably daily across the business - I attend many that are relevant, but not all, due to how many there are. I am encouraged to attend these and tend to organise a lot of them due to my role.
