  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Aftersales finance analyst is my current role. This requires daily, weekly and monthly reporting of sales figures in aftersales and distributing this to the team. Raising invoices and credits, some which are ad-hoc, some are more regular. Doing month end activities to reconcile all data, and to close off the month.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy both being able to study and work. Working I get real life experiences, perform a challenging job that if an apprentice wasn't doing would need to be performed by another employee. and a monthly salary. these real life experiences support me in my 20% studying as I have real business example to use.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel that when I first started the programme it was less structured. we started at Bedford college and our HNC. The end date was never sure, and going college once a week and trying to fit college work was difficult. now at uni of herts is better structured. we are able to go only once a month and get 20% time studying in work time.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer are understanding of my 20% studying and support this. I can have as much or as little support required from my employer. I prefer to be independent but if I were to ask my manager for any help or support, it would be available with no question asked.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • the Uni of Herts are very supportive, with the online learning qupport is available almost any time, and replying are quick usually with 24-48 hours. they are understanding that we all have day to day busy jobs, and help us to work around this to get the best of our degree.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that because business management covers all topics from Human Resources , finance to purchasing each unit we do can be relatable as they can be very generic. it helps get you thinking academically about what you are doing rather than just the handover you are given to perform the job.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • at Vauxhall we do CSR days once a year, I have been able to help in the local community from paint to gardening along with my team. social activities are more minimal within the employer. No Christmas event is held and no sport teams that I am aware of to join.
