1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I currently work in the third party risk management team. I complete controls testing and reviewing evidence of developers access to production. My work is currently mainly Cyber based however this can change as we move around departments.

2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned a large number of new cyber skills as well as IT related skills. For example, I am currently working towards two Microsoft OS exams in order to develop my learning, completely supported by EY

3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I thoroughly enjoy my programme as we are treated exclusively as one of the team. It allows me to complete my university work whilst also gaining valuable work experience.

4. How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well structured. We have one day a week at university and 4 days a week in the office. We also have a set number of study days off available to us for when we need extra time off nearing assignments.

5. How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive a reasonable amount of support from my employer. We are given counselors at the start of our employment that support us in everything that we do and have regular meetings to check up on us.

6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Average support. At Northumbria University we are each given a personal tutor who supports us in our work. However, the university's level of organisation in receiving feedback can be poor.

7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

To a reasonable extent, some of the information we learn can be translated into every day working life. However, due to my current role being mainly based in cyber and my degree being in management, it can be hard to find similarities.

8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, a large number of networks, teams and events are available to us as employees at EY.

Yes

EY have been incredible at supporting us through this journey. We feel as though we are members of the team and equals to full time employees. This has enabled us to develop quickly and adapt to the working world.

Be confident. Put forward your best qualities and they will recognise you for that.
