  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I work as part of the group's commercial finance team within Pinley House head office. Our team's main objective is to ensure dealerships are paid their due support payments for all the vehicles they sell. Personally, i handle to day-to-day queries that arrive within our local inbox's from dealerships who believe they have been under/overpaid and wish for us to resolve this asap. In addition, I am tasked with ensuring the dealers are paid as soon as possible using the procedures & systems in place.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have recently started carrying out audit checks for my team, we use a third-party audit team to carry out the initial audit and provide the results then i ensure that everything matches up with our systems and payments/claw back's made. Starting this task has helped to improve my Microsoft Excel skills as i am using more advanced formula's to carry out these checks.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy learning and working in new business areas, so when this new opportunity became an option, I found it very exciting to work in a different team and to have a completely different set of tasks & responsibilities. Alongside having this new role i was undertaken as an accounting apprentice, which in turn allowed me to start the AAT Accounting Programme, this has helped me develop my financial knowledge and only made me want to expand my knowledge further.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I believe my programme is currently very well structured. My contract provides me with 20% study time per week so i essentially work 4 days and have 1 day off to go to college and study. This flexibility is what allows me to easily carry out my work as well as providing enough time for me to learn & develop new financial skills & knowledge which will help me within my current job role and an=t the end of my apprenticeship fixed period i will have a AAT qualification to show for it which is fantastic.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • PSA Groupe have given me all the support that i could possibly need and more. I initially started working for PSA Groupe back in 2017 within the Corporate Identity team and once that contract was coming up to its end the my previous director & the HR team stepped in and offered me this job role & apprenticeship opportunity, they provided all the information i needed to be able to make my decision and has been checking up and ensuring everything is okay it regards to both my apprenticeship & current job role.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • As stated in a previous question, i receive 20% study time per week (essentially 1 day a week) where i will go to college to learn and advance my financial skills. Kaplan Financial is my training provider, who do a great job in teaching me each topic and ensuring i am prepared for the exams that follow. Thanks to them providing such support i have been able to pass each of the exams i have taken and i am sure that i will be able to pass the upcoming ones in the same way.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Throughout my AAT Accounting apprenticeship, i have been able to pick up the meanings of different financial terms / phrases as well as learn new methods of working out certain things, which in turn assist me with my current job role within the Commercial Finance team. In addition, it also works in my favour in the opposite aspect, by this i mean that because i am able to use the knowledge i learn at college within my job role it helps me gain a better understanding of how it works within a business and therefore progresses my knowledge further.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I always try to make an effort to attend such events that take my interests such as gaming expo's and or other social events like festivals. I go to these because i enjoy meeting new people, learning what they do and hopefully keep a connection to them as you never know when you might meet them again.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Stellantis to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I have been employed by PSA Groupe for almost 3 years and throughout this entire time i have never once felt out of place or that i wouldn't want to be there. This is the exact reason i would highly recommend PSA to a friend, because they are enjoyable to work with and provide fantastic opportunities whenever they arise.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Stellantis?
  • Anyone applying to PSA Groupe for any join role should be prepared and organised to the best of their ability as they will most likely have the same type of screening and interview process as myself (email, phone call, face-to-face & a group interview) having all of these Within a short span of time may be overbearing to some individuals but i believe the way PSA carries this out reduces the amount of stress brought upon someone. So all in all the most important advice i can give is to keep calm and be prepared.
