  • 1. Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
  • The first week of the smart futures programme involved presentations and working towards a level 2 qualification in team leadership.The second week of the programme involved "working" in an actual EY department with an EY employee.However the term "working" refers more to shadowing and doing nothing truly significant.

  • 2. What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
  • The programme built my team working skills and my leadership skills.I also got some Microsoft excel training .In addition to this, from the programme i obtained a CMI level 2 award in team leadership.

  • 3. To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
  • The programme was fun and definitely worthwhile particularly in the first week.Yet the second week of the project whilst providing insight into how a company like EY operates was a little monotonous because in my case there was little to do.Although the employee i was with done his best.

  • On a whole it was very well organised apart from the instance When my mentor never showed up on the day mentors were meant to meet their mentee for the first time.

  • 5. How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
  • Overall,it was a great glimpse into what it would be like to work for EY.The people in the offices were very friendly.And the office atmosphere is what i expected.

  • 6. How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
  • whilst the programme gave me an insight into the company.It didn't provide much in terms of a future career path because i only obtained an insight to one specific job role.

  • Meeting other employees yes.Actual networking on the other hand not really.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The programme is mostly fun enjoyable and it allows you to get an actual qualification.Also its a paid work experience which is rare.Moreover meeting other student from completely different parts of London was great and again the programme leader and other employees were really nice.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to EY?
  • Complete the online application as quick as you can.Be prepared for your phone interview to be rescheduled and lastly during your interview always refer to projects/work experience you have done prior.
