I am a nursery nurse, I work with children between 6 months-4 years. my daily roles include person care, such as nappies, first aid, working at meal times and ensuring the safeguarding of children. There are lots of cuddles involved in my work. I work with several children who have special needs, we work with the children and their families to ensure everyone has a fair and healthy experience at nursery
I have really developed skills working one to one with children who require extra needs. I have learnt how to use a hoist carefully and have read through IEP’s to better understand how to teach other children.
I have found my programme very helpful, my trainer is very helpful and will do whatever she can to help me with and queries. She is always available via email and is always happy to help. I love working as a nursery nurse and love shaping the young children’s minds!
My programme is well organised, I have a face to face session with my tutor around every month. As well as help through the bud app and email. There are often videos to help attached with each unit as well as a checklist with the points that you need to make
My employer is the best, my managers are always around and will always offer support should you need it.
My tutor is very helpful, she helps me to better understand questions when they are worded difficultly. She is always around when I need to ask a question.
My qualification allows me to better understand situations in our setting. It allows me to understand risks and repercussions as well as the importance for planning and safeguarding. The programme has allowed me to see from different perspectives.
Our work doesn’t provide extra curricular activities to my knowledge. We have however had a Christmas and a summer party, as well as keeping in contact in a group chat with the rest of the staff
Yes
During the coronavirus all of the staff were worried we would be fired, the manager worked to give us all roles and hours so that we could still do something. Our manager has everyone’s best interests at heart and is always there for us
Go for it, the company is very nice to work for and ultimately will give you an aspect of support
