  • Work as part of an engagement team to carry out Statutory audits.

  • Before beginning the programme I had no idea what audit even was. Throughout the placements, each I have worked on many new financial statement line items and come across new roles such as welfare rep.

  • It is challenging but well worth it and completely sets you up for a future career, something that not alot of programmes can promise

  • The structure of the programme is clear and information regarding any changes is given in a timely manner.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Both my career coach and my engagement manager regularly check up on me and inquire how I am doing. My colleagues are also a great source of support and always happy to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Before each placement we endure a week of training to get back up to speed with what placement will expect and areas we are likely to cover. All time in Uni directly attributes to the qualification.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Having prior theoretical knowledge helps me stand out from others of the same grade but who haven't gone through the Flying Start programme. I am able to pick up different skills at work more quickly because of this.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Cambridge is a very social office and there are events and work outings happening all the time, I am eager to take part in these if I am in the area.

  • Being a well-rounded person is crucial, focus on your social skills as well as your academic
