  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • As well as working in a team in departments to undertake work, there are a few different things that you can get involved with. All apprentices have the ability to network with others and career events on site and at schools, colleges in the area. There are team building events that are carried out across the year such as the outward bounds expedition. This is a week long expedition in the Lake District carrying out activities in team such as walking, climbing, caneoing, rafting and other outside sports. Outside of work, there are usually get together where Apprentice can meet up and continue to build friendships whilst networking.

  • 9a. Would you recommend GSK to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • For me, GSK is one of the best, if not the best company to work for. Everything that is done on this apprenticeship is well organised, interesting and enjoyable. The experience that I have had has been great so far as I have learnt loads and had a great time doing it.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to GSK?
  • First of all, you need to be focused on what you want. You need to know what you want to do as this will make it easier whilst applying. Ideally you need to have to some examples of when you have worked on specific things. This is to show you can carry out the basic requirement. An example of this maybe working in a team to do something. Another thing to note is to do your research, you need to know a bit about the company so you have some general back ground knowledge.
