  • Carrying out testing on different FSLI's of a companies accounts.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • My understanding of accounting has improved greatly since the start of placement. As well communication skills with new people have improved. Furthermore, my excel and general computer skills are far better than at the start of placement.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • PwC has a very good company culture in which you feel happy to ask questions and team members are always nice. This made the placement enjoyable despite long hours and long travel times.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say the programme is organised. With there being enough training and updates to keep you informed. There are also different people you can speak to about problems.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • You receive a lot of support at PwC with there always being someone to speak to if you have any problems or questions.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Our training provider often gives us support towards our qualifications with lecturers always willing to answer any questions out of lecture hours.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification helps a lot as it gives you a good understanding of the auditing process and how accounting works before you start working on real life clients. Without this learning I would have been far more confused while working.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are some extracurricular activities such as social activities and sport teams however these do not occur very often so did not get to experience any of these events. However, we do not work during the busy season of the year.

  • Yes

  • PwC are a very supportive company, giving you many opportunities to develop your career but also giving you a support network when you have any problems or questions.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
  • Focus more on being a team player instead of an individual in the assessment days and be willing to be flexible as you will sometimes need to work longer hours or suddenly change teams in order to get engagements completed on time.
