I'm head chef, it requires making sure dish and all components that go on the plate are the highest quality and are hot before being served to the customer. I also do food ordering and stock counts, ensuring we are not wasting more food than we should be doing
The main thing I have developed would be knowledge, the main thi g this apprenticeship seemed to focus on was the knowledge that I have and not necessarily the skills I took to the kitchen, such as knife skills etc. I have learned numerous new things I did not know before
The program was very good. I have been taught a lot of new things from the program. I liked the fact that if you were ever unsure on any answers during the teaching sessions it wasn't a big deal, time was taken to explain anything I was ever unsure about
Very well structured. My trainer was always only a message away if I had any questions which needed asking. They are very flexible on times required to meet for face to face sessions, always make sure it suits the best time for me and any changes were always made sure I knew about
I received a lot of support from both the general manager and the kitchen manager of the restaurant I work at. I was always made aware I knew I could get help if I needed it. Along side my nvq, my managers both showed me other things to help my training
Any support that you feel you may need can be asked and if the trainer could help then he did. This was available even on days when I did not have a meeting with Matthew I knew I could just send a message or call him and he would get back to me asap
It mainly gave me the confidence in my work that I needed, I stopped second guessing things which made it easier for me to focus on my teams work as I knew that what I was doing was going to be good, I could pass my training on to my team
The k ly things that spring to mind is meeting up with colleagues out of work, we often go to each others houses and play video games and sometimes meet up fpr a dribk, can't do that at the moment because of the quarantine and the lock down unfortunately
