  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I manage the delivery partners that we work with in supporting apprenticeship delivery and learners who are working with our delivery partners. I also project manage the on boarding of new delivery partners and also partners that we work with the adult education funding.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Before starting apprenticeship I had been involved in projects but had never managed them before. the apprenticeship has allowed me to understand all aspects of project management including project management plans, governance, risks and communication tools. Without completing the project management apprenticeship I wouldn't have been ab to progress in my role and gain future opportunities

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy being on this programme. The tutor I have is really helpful and available any time i have any questions or need any help. While the programme isn't easy I have felt motivated and challenged and feel that gaining these skills and qualification will help me in future career goals

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • My apprenticeship programme is structured really well with our views and feedback taken into account. We have a classrooms session every month covering a different topic each month and in between we are set work with help and support provided by our training and development officer. The group that I am in also supports each other.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer has been really supportive and involved in my apprenticeship. They ensure that I get my 20% ff the job training and allow me to have time to complete my work where needed. I am frequently invited to do job shadowing and have a mentor to support me when I need help. I also have regular reviews with my manager to ensure I am on track.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider has been fantastic at supporting me. My training and development officer gets back to me really quickly with any queries I have and extra support session have been provided when I've been struggling. When my TDO is on holiday there are other contact available who are also really helpful and supportive.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • As my role has moved to be more project focused I wouldn't have been able to transition without completing this apprenticeship. it has given me the skills to understand exactly what goes into Project Management and ho this shapes the future of the business. Now that I understand all of this I am able to perform better and manage my time and resources more effectively, thus having an greater impact on the business.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Within my role I am on the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion committee. As part of this committee we look to raise awareness surrounding EDI issues and educate other team members about this. This has helped me in my apprenticeship to become a better learner and manager and therefore a better project manager

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I have worked in different roles within the training provider industry and Interserve Learning and Employment is the best place I have worked. My colleagues are all really friendly and helpful and I supported throughout both my job and my development. ILE also care a lot about staff well being


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Realise?
  • The advise I would give to anyone apply to Interserve, particularly Interserve Learining and Employment is to do research on the sector and ensure you understand what it means to work for a training provider. It's great to understand ESFA funding rules, apprenticeship funding rules (including the apprenticeship levy) and also Ofsted.
