  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I assist with various projects and BAU activities for ensuring the roll out and maintaining of device services relating to laptops (applications, OS and device health) and monitoring of mobile device issues and assisting with those if needed. Supporting project roles and facilitating the work that needs doing or setting up meetings with external vendors

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have been able to further my skills with excel that had been not used in a long time, learnt about incident management, use of device health management tools, the ins and outs of working within a business environment. I have improved my ability to work and communicate with the team and people around the globe that I require help from or provide help to

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my program a lot, I get a lot of information through the training provider sessions both in person and online. I get a lot of knowledge from my in work learning, through day to day I am able to absorb and get a lot of good and enjoy what I am getting out of it

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It is well structured and organised, it took some time for things to settle but once it did we got information, on the different delivery methods of learning and then sending out information on what we will be doing and the information we will need to accompany our sessions. there is plenty of time allocated for learning

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer, they give me all the information and time that I need to succeed in my day to day role, giving me credit and opportunities to learn and grow. They also make a lot of allowances and give me what time I need in order to carry out my study

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive a lot of support, frequent calls to check in and then in person visits that allow me to keep up with what work I need to do or any help and support I need from them, they provide good support and feedback on any work given and I can keep in email contact should I need.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me to have a better understanding on a deeper level of the organisational structure, and why things are being done in particular ways. It allows me to help out more in my role and provide a better support to them as I can grasp the concepts better to preform my role without asking for help

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are lots events, there has been christmas parties, an activity day for team building and sporting. There are plenty of learning sessions to take advantage of to further yourselves. There are also apprentice events that the apprentices can meet with each other and build a network amongst themselves

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a fantastic opportunity to gain a proper qualification whilst you are working in an environment and gaining business experience. They offer a competitive salary with performance based pay increases. They also give allowances for learning and time for you to learn and encourage that. They offer working from home benefits and other company based benefits


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Unilever?
  • I would advise that they just do their best to be themselves and try and answer any questions honestly. Look into the company and what they stand for, understand the products that they make and their stance on different world issues. Be prepared to involve in different exercises such as group activities and interviews
