    8/10

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Very much so. Plenty of opportunities to learn throughout the entire scheme, and this placement in particular is very useful in providing a first-hand perspective on customer banking

    9/10

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Very well organised, because it includes varied opportunities to learn and challenge myself

    8/10

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Significant amounts. I have an accommodating manager who makes it clear that I can be open and honest about anything in our 1:1s

    9/10

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The training provider has been somewhat helpful in supporting me for my qualifications. I have some online resources to work with, and it's clear that I can reach out when struggling. However, the material can feel too basic/beginner-friendly, not specific or relevant enough

    5/10

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification is useful on a beginner-level for getting leadership skills, however I feel like the material doesn't always feel relevant, and lacks more informative material that can be of greater use. As-is, I don't think I am benefitting as much as I could

    6/10

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Volunteering, training courses and professional networking events

    7/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend HSBC to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It's a phenomenal programme with many opportunities to learn and develop. The nationally-mobile requirement might put off some but it is rewarding. I feel fully supported for development, and I get to be involved in many areas of a global bank.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HSBC?
  • Be aware of any nationally-mobile requirements
