  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I look after the merchandising of products on the retail websites. This includes a wide range of tasks from managing and creating discounts, product focused email campaigns, creating and uploading new webpages, supporting the marketing team with appropriate products for each campaign, curating product pages and providing our customers with the best deals.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have further developed my management and leadership skills throughout the duration of my apprenticeship. It has given me the opportunity to take part in tasks and projects which I wouldn't normally have the opportunity to do so. The apprenticeship curriculum includes a varied range of topics to further develop my skills in.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have really enjoyed taking part in my apprenticeship programme. I believe it has enhanced my everyday role, because the modules have a practical application which has helped me and my team with our everyday workings. I also enjoy learning new skills which my programme has definitely given me the opportunity to do.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme itself is quite structured that you have to complete online modules on certain topics. However it terms of complete my work and preparing for my assessments, I feel like it was more focused around working independently. This personally suits my learning style, but I can see that other people who require more support might struggle with this aspect.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Again I feel like my apprenticeship included a lot of independent learning, so I didn't really require a lot of support from my employer overall. However I did receive a lot of support from my colleagues, who helped me and participated in some of my assessment tasks and projects.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider has been a massive help with working towards my apprenticeship. My assessor has been brilliant with the time we have been working together. She has always made herself available to answer any of my questions through enails or over the phone. I feel like all of our assessment appointments have been really productive.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • As I have previously mentioned, I believe my apprenticeship has enhanced my everyday role. This is because of the way the apprenticeship is structured so that I can be applied to day to day working. So has benefited me by providing me with an additional qualification and helped improve he way I work overall.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There aren't currently any extra curricular activities in my office. I am aware of sports teams and networking events that take place at our head office, but this isn't something that is currently on offer at where I work now. It might be something that gets implemented in the future.
