  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy where I work, both the job role and the team that I work with. The work changes constantly, so there is always a new skill to learn. My manager is always pushing me to do my best and finding new opportunities for me. Being part of a workshop capable of delivering amazing things is fantastic

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program has room for improvement. There are discrepancy and lack of communication between the training provider and Jaguar Land Rover. The college courser needs to be updated. There needs to be more to support and encourage young women into engineering apprenticeships. A lot of information is not known until last minute

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There are many things put into place to help employees. Jaguar Land Rover is really trying to help support mental health. This is fantastic and must be continued and improved upon. More supports should be provided to apprentices, especially minors as they may need more help because of their lack of experience.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • The college as an entity does little to help, which is a shame because there are some lecturers that are really passionate and want to help but are limited and restricted by the college. Cutting large portions of the teachers has had a negative impact on the teachers ability to teach

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The course does not match up well with my current job role, it is more based at people working within power train or with engines on a regular basis. I typically work with electric vehicles, meaning large sections of the qualification do not really assist with my job role currently.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are some, but it is very limited or not well advertised by the company. Any activities typically seem to be run by a limited number of passionate individuals. However some additional support or even funding by Jaguar Land Rover could, potentially, make a real difference for the employees on site.

  • 9a. Would you recommend JLR to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I really enjoy my job, where I work, and the team I work with. There are so many opportunists for advancements and the learning of skills. You are paid to learn Getting a job is not just about the qualifications you have, but also the experience. An apprenticeship offers both.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to JLR?
  • Be yourself and be confident Do not worry or stress about the application process, its relatively easy Talk about what you are passionate about, it is easy to talk about a subject you actually really enjoy If you have any work or volunteer experience this can be useful to mentioned.
