  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • I run our employee intranet, ensuring all information is correct and up to date. I also plan all communications for a variety of channels including intranet, digital screens, lift posters and social. My day-to-day role also includes planning all internal activations for new releases to engage employees and create a buzz in the office.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt a variety of new skills in my role, from organisation to time management. The skills I have learnt are incredibly transferable and key to my everyday role. The most crucial skill I've developed in this role is my communication skills as I am in contact with a variety of different stakeholders everyday.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I LOVE my apprenticeship. It's given me opportunities and responsibilities I never could have imagined as an apprentice. Every one at Warner Bros. is incredibly lovely and would do anything to help you. As my first office job it's shown me how to excel and develop my skills for the future.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • In my department, I get off one day a week for my apprenticeship work. This works amazingly as it allows you to concentrate fully on your apprenticeship, keeping both the work life and the apprenticeship life quite separate. This is key as my apprenticeship workload is quite large so it allows me to focus on ticking off the right criteria.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My manager is very supportive with my apprenticeship, although it can be difficult as two are a very small team so having one day off in the week can be more difficult to take advantage of the apprenticeship day when there are new releases as sometimes you need to still be alert on email.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have a weekly catch up with my mentor, but other than that it's very remote based. As it's an online qualification I can pick and choose when I need help from my mentor. My mentor has had more impact than our overall training provider but I think this is due to the nature of the qualification.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I have really enjoyed doing a PR qualification, it hasn't necessarily helped my role in my day to day job tasks but it's strengthened my copy writing and made me more aware of the PR industry. It's allowed me to work with our PR team on tasks such as writing press releases and pitching to the media, which I wouldn't usually do in my day to day role.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Your apprenticeship is really what you make of it at Warner Bros. There are a variety of activities such as Business Resource Groups (run by females) to get involved in. I am part of Women of Warner, a resource group aimed at female working professionals. The intern/ apprenticeship cohort is very large too so there's lots of option to socialise.

  • 9a. Would you recommend WarnerMedia to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It's an incredible place for an apprenticeship, you learn so much in your role and develop skills you never knew you had. It's a great step onto the career ladder and gives you invaluable experience within the industry. Everyone is so lovely and treat you as an equal.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WarnerMedia?
  • Apply...apply...APPLY! Warner Bros. is an amazing place to work, and a very surreal apprenticeship experience. The entertainment industry is so fun and varied, no two days are the same. It's a great place to network and meet some really incredible people. Becoming an apprentice at WB has really kick started my career and I will be so sad to leave!
