  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • On a day to day basis I firstly start by looking at my emails for the first half an hour. I then check if there are any inductions to be carried out so I have all the right paperwork ready. I then look at the course planner to check what courses are on to make sure I do the right registers. I then do some tasks such as exam requests, making one files and invigilating. I do a range of Admin Tasks

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my Phone confidence by having some training and getting more experience. Telephone voice by reading some tips to be able to get my voice presentable. Admin Skills Using new platforms such as exam platforms and spreadsheets. I have learnt how to word my emails and letters a lot formal.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I tried couple different things such as another college and different trades and I have never liked one job that I have had before. The job I have no I actually enjoy so I know it was what I was meant to do. I am always busy and learn alot.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I have been able to get through all the apprenticeship work very quick by going to the master classes and getting lots of training and revision to do the exams. I feel the classes were very structured and helped me to pass all the exams first time. My assessor and colleagues were very helpful.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I can sort out anything with my line manager or get help from other staff if I needed it. Me and my line manager have meetings every week to make sure I have the right work load and if I was stuck with anything. If I was stuck she would be able to help me.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • my assessor and employer are very helpful with helping me to towards my apprenticeship. I have a one file account which all my evidence goes on for my apprenticeship. My employer allows me alot of time to do my questions and get anything done for my apprenticeship including my exams

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The information I get in the exams and the questions is very helpful in my role especially when dealing with GDPR dealing with peoples information is important to keep safe. It really helps you to understand what you do in your job role and helps you to understand your work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • We have team building activities that we do every year to help the team build socially and this helps when you are in the work place as you can easily speak to more people in your company. I feel this makes it easier for everyone to help eachother in the workplace also.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would recommend this company to friends which I already have and they have come here. Is that compared to other colleges in Exeter that do apprenticeships PGL support you to get work experience with an employer that wants an apprentice and then if you fit the job role you can get take on as an apprentice. other colleges such as exeter main college make you find everything for your self with no help at 16 years old


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PGL Training?
  • When having training take lots of notes. having a positive attitude is looked good upon. Make sure you have worked on your CV and cover letter and that you are prepared for the interview. (Which the college helps you with in your traineeship) speak clearly and confidently and know what you want.
