Supporting adults with learning disabilities with day to day tasks, personal care, administering medication, support with meals, taking them out into the community or for health appointments. All paper work related to health I over see and complete, supporting staff with health related concerns.
I have learnt how to do an A-D and A-G assessment on patients, (Manual blood pressure, Resp rates) Developed knowledge in health conditions and pharmacology.
I enjoy developing my knowledge and skills in practise.
Not very well, Left without knowing what room to be in. Lack of communication between lecturers and the university class
I receive a lot of support, monthly supervisions and manager and seniors always happy to help and support me.
Given detailed lectures to support through my work and developed great knowledge from this.
As I have been in my role for 6 years, within my setting it hasn't impacted on my day to day job but has increased my skills whilst on placement.
Within my company there are plenty of training to go on to develop and refresh skills and knowledge.

MacIntyre is a wonderful company to work for, the support they give the residents here is amazing. Staff are interactive and positive throughout the shift and interactions with the people we support. Very professional and supportive.
Be open minded, think about how to approach a person, think about basics such as personal care and how to interact with different people. Take time to develop a great relationship with the guys. Support them how you would want yourself or family to be supported.
