  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Mondays I work with the senior nurses to visit patient and provide care as per care plan. Tuesday I attend University for Lectures. Wednesday super numeracy with senior nurses. Thursday I work independently and sometimes work with senior nurses. Friday I work independently visiting patient to provide wound care as per car plan. At the end of each day I handover to the team and receive feedback from my Supervisor and my Manager regarding my progress on the course.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt new skills and also developed on existing skills. I have developed on my medicine management, end of life care, wound management, District nursing assessment, incontinence assessment, swop/sampling, pleural/rocket drainage, Insulin administration, Catheter care, Diabetes management, Hypertension management, Bowel care, Advice and support.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed my programme because I am supported 100% in both my practical and theory. Because I love to care for people makes my programme and job very enjoyable by looking after people with healthcare needs.

  • My programme is well structured and organised both at the University and at placement.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I am supported by all members of staff both senior and junior staff. My Employer is the best in regards to training their staff and making their staff achieve their future career pathway and also they make sure the staff become successful in their chosen career.

  • I receive constant support from my training provider.

  • I am more advanced in my knowledge through the vigorous lectures I received from my training provider.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Team goes on dinner, we chat on social media, we celebrate each others birthdays. We attend wedding when member of staff children are getting married.
