Mondays I work with the senior nurses to visit patient and provide care as per care plan. Tuesday I attend University for Lectures. Wednesday super numeracy with senior nurses. Thursday I work independently and sometimes work with senior nurses. Friday I work independently visiting patient to provide wound care as per car plan. At the end of each day I handover to the team and receive feedback from my Supervisor and my Manager regarding my progress on the course.
I have learnt new skills and also developed on existing skills. I have developed on my medicine management, end of life care, wound management, District nursing assessment, incontinence assessment, swop/sampling, pleural/rocket drainage, Insulin administration, Catheter care, Diabetes management, Hypertension management, Bowel care, Advice and support.
I enjoyed my programme because I am supported 100% in both my practical and theory. Because I love to care for people makes my programme and job very enjoyable by looking after people with healthcare needs.
My programme is well structured and organised both at the University and at placement.
I am supported by all members of staff both senior and junior staff. My Employer is the best in regards to training their staff and making their staff achieve their future career pathway and also they make sure the staff become successful in their chosen career.
I receive constant support from my training provider.
I am more advanced in my knowledge through the vigorous lectures I received from my training provider.
