I am involved with preparing and co-ordinating competitive tenders for the company. This involves daily liason with our supply chain, internal team, client team and any other external inidividuals required for the project.
Learnt new skills regarding construction softwares like bluebeam, esti-mate and AuotCad. Developed communication skills both internally and client based as well as improving on my attention to detail.
Very thorougly, being involved in a smaller more cohesive team suits the environment I enjoy. I'm comfortable asking for any help should it be required.
Support is offered whenever needed/asked for which is a huge help. I've been given a lot more responsibility which has allowed my development to accelerate as well as improve my general awareness of the working environment.
I receive a considerable amount of support. One to one sit downs with my line director and HR manager respectively. Interactions with the directors on an almost daily occurence.
I struggle to find help, it can feel like a chore to get answers / guidance a lot of the time. Lack of personal contact, feel like a small member in a massive group which is understandable but not beneficial all the time.
Slightly, at the moment as it is the start of the course alot of the information is irrelevant to daily professional application. However, as the course progresses I feel this will change and only in my second year now I have noticed a difference.
We have company wide events such as communication evenings, event/holiday/birthday parties. Attempts are being made at setting up a sports weekly event

They're very well structured and have a system in place to get the apprentice into a heavily involved and beneficial role from the start.
Make sure you always ask questions and make yourself a nuisance. Talk about relevant experience / opportunites you are hoping to gain.
