All the parts that don't involve the University of Warwick
Varies from department to department and from manager to manager. I had worked within the business to attempt to improve this over the last couple of years but didn't get anywhere.
My own manager is very understanding of my academic needs and provides me with time within the working week to focus on coursework, other apprentices within JLR do not get this opportunity.
Warwick University is terrible. The overall quality of teaching is sub-par. I regularly find myself bored in lectures, lab work is impertinent to most job roles. The quality of the admin team is disgraceful. Marks are usually late, communications are missed and responses to questions are unhelpful.
While there have been some elements of university content that I have been able to tie to work, the majority of my learning has taken place in the business. The academic side of this apprenticeship is a box-ticking exercise, literally in the case of the supplementary NVQ.
Nothing organised, such a system exists for graduates but safeguarding concerns around Advanced Apprentices (Joining at 16) as meant apprentices cannot attend. However there is a lot extra going on through general JLR culture.
