  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • An overview of my role is to work across EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) to support employees with the use of IT across L'Oréal. It is an Employee Experience role, in which role requirements are to communicate and raise awareness of digital solutions to support the business in achieving its targets. A fantastic role with great exposure!

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed many skills during my time at L'Oréal completing my Degree Apprenticeship, both personally and professionally. Some of the most effective professional skills I have learnt are: Project Management, Leadership, Communication, and Time Management. These skills have been developed by being fortunate enough to manage and work on projects in a professional for such a large organisation. You truly are given responsibility to manage your own workload and make a difference on a successful organisation.

  • All support I have received from L'Oréal as an employer is fantastic. I cannot fault L'Oréal for one thing in their support to me as a Degree Apprentice. My manager and HR together have enabled me to feel an important asset of the team, providing me with confidence to fulfil my role to the best of my ability. Upon finishing my Degree, my manager and HR have supported my future career opportunities, providing recommendations for roles and reaching out to discuss my next steps. Every day in my role I have felt appreciated, and I cannot thank the teams I have worked with enough in supporting my future career. There are many opportunities to continue in a very rewarding organisation.

There are many tutors who put in countless hours to enable you to reach your full potential. • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • After completion of my Degree, the qualification I have achieved has noticeably made a difference in how I can perform better in my role. Before starting the programme, I had no previous business study experience. Since completion, I have been able to better understand my role and other business roles. This is through the learning developed throughout the programme from Pearson, and the studies of relative business theories which help businesses succeed.

  • I would suggest that anyone applying to L'Oréal should be prepared, and however cheesy it sounds, be yourself. L'Oréal is so diverse and inclusive that anyone can truly be who they want to be. The application and assessment days are in-depth, putting applicants through engaging but testing assessments. Make sure you are prepared, and try to stay confident.
