  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • In my job role, my task will be monitoring and maintaining customer connectivity to our networks. I will provide front-line primary technical support to end-users on various technical issues and problems relating to hardware, broadband and voice services. I will also be responsible for responding to, documenting and resolving service tickets on time according to SLA. I am responsible for diagnosing any hardware and connectivity to our network faults with customer systems and will solve the issues over the phone.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • The skills that are required to do my job role are good communication skills and patience as you are dealing with customers via email and communication on the phone. Sometimes I will counter angry customers, I will need to remain patient and behave professionally, so I will need to remember when the customer is angry, you need to stay professional at all times because of its part of the job and also because you're representing your company. I will need In-depth knowledge of hardware and connectivity of the network Virgin to provide so when the customer rings in I will have understood what hardware device and connectivity they are using to connect to there and our devices.so it will help you troubleshoot and diagnose the issue and what config is needed to configure. I need to be up-to-date with the latest IT product and the latest Virgin products as well, in case the customer wants an upgrade you can explain the product in more depth and give them a better understanding of what product will work better for them.   • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • One thing about Virgin is there are many opportunities to grow in the company you can move around the different fields of work in Virgin. The good opportunities I will be getting with Virgin apprenticeship are that I will be able to get my CCNA which is a well-known qualification in the networking environment. It will help me understand the basics of the whole networking system and when an issue approaches you to have a better understanding of how to deal with faults or problems in the networking system.So far I have enjoy the Virgin experience.

We usually have a deadline set every time we are given a task to complete.

Also, we got BKSB training to help us get up to level 2 in English and maths GCSE level.   • One thing about Virgin is there are many Opportunities to grow in the company you can move around different field of work in Virgin. The good opportunities I got with Virgin apprenticeship is that I be able to get my CCNA which is well known qualification in the networking enviorment.It will help me understand the basic of whole networking system and when faults come through you have better understanding how to deal with faults or problem in the networking system.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • . I started to work on my Cisco Chapter 5 this cover the topic about Ethernet. It gives the basic understanding of Ethernet protocols, LAN switches and Address Resolution Protocol. The OSI physical layer provides the means to transport the bits that make up a data link layer frame across the network media. Ethernet is now the predominant LAN technology in the world. Ethernet operates in the data link layer and the physical layer. The Ethernet protocol standards define many aspects of network communication including frame format, frame size, timing, and encoding. Through my training provider help me perform better

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Yes there are football activates after work where work lot get together and play football and well being walk every month we go to the park for a walk once a month as part of keeping yourself healthy it great that work give us that opppertuinty to look after ourselves.
