  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • Due to the nature of the programme; rotation placement, teams and the culture can vary. Depending on the level of co-operation the work can be enjoyable or really bad. The role is new so the programme needs are often not met.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme at the start was very clear. Induction from the trust and university was very informative. Line manager is very busy though so contact can be difficult. The programme is very misunderstood at work so a lot of education needs to be done. Modules learnt however are very important and applicable to work.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is intermittent supervision and we have forums to discuss the course on a monthly/bi-monthly basis. There is often lack of support when moving to a different placement from the top manager and mentors are not assigned appropriately. There is however a general positive attitude all round from the wider team.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Modules are explained thoroughly and if any problems arise they can be dealt with immediately. Time and the content covered can be accessed easily. Communication via email can sometimes be difficult. Overall atmosphere is very encouraging and supportive to complete the level 4 qualification. Not enough times where the university checks our documentation.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Content is very helpful. It either covers scenarios, background information or skills that can be used directly in the workplace. The university provides this by lectures or in a practical way. I am more aware of what my job is and what it involves. Learning on the go reinforces what we learn.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust?
