  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • as an apprentice, on a day to day basis, I work with my team that I am in and work of faults that come into the queue. Each fault varies. I also take part in team meetings throughout the day, these are important and can be apprenticeship related or work related.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed a lot of new skills as an apprentice, especially confidence building skills which have helped me when talking to new people across the business. I have also built presentation skills, these are very helpful, as I am more confident when presenting to an audience at work or at home.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really do enjoy the programme, it provides a lot of responsibility as well as a lot of opportunities as an apprentice and for the future of your career. everyone is nice in my team and helps me, which makes it more enjoyable. I would definitely recommend it to others.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It can be structured or organised a lot better, mainly university as it seems very unorganised whether it is marking, classes or choosing a lecturer for each of our classes. The apprenticeship itself is fairly organised, especially when organising each of us into our new teams, I like that it is organised.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • There is a lot of support from our employer, but mainly from our teams. the teams are happy to help out with any issues that I might have with the work. There is alos a lot of help from previous apprentices, whether it is help with uni work or apprentice related things.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • This could be improved a lot, the teaching is quite bad, I often do not feel engaged in the studies. The assignments are okay and we all get through them, but with more help from the uni, this could be made simpler and easier to help e in my studies.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • a lot of it does not relate to the work that I do at work, this is quite annoying as a lot of the stuff we do can seem very pointless to learn if we do not use it in our day to day role while working at BT. But it might do in the future.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There can be, we usually do our own things in our free time, such as badminton. There are facilities at work to do this, so we just need to hire them out and organise these events. There are also events that we can sign up to, such as school events.

    7/10

  • 9a. Would you recommend BT to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • It is a massive opportunity for people to join BT, there is a lot of career progression and I really do enjoy it. A lot can be improved but we are able to put our voices forward and make these changed if necessary. A lot of team building is involved which I really enjoy.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • Make sure you are prepared for the interview, you will need to make sure you do a lot of research into the company, this is so that BT know that you have done your research and you can show off this knowledge in your interview and look better to others.
