  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • We have an equal balance between university and work which means that we have our university weeks clearly set out from the beginning of the year. The structure is so we gain a proper degree from a well respected university whilst working full time and getting a yearly salary.

  • 6a. How much support do you receive from your training provider?
  • Our tutors are always willing to help with any university queries or help with essays. They are also very accomodating in relation to our Work/ University balance so try to help us out in anyway they can for example when writing our essays or deadline extensions. The weeks we are at university can be tough as a lot of information is given to us, but they give us lots of time to digest it and ask questions at the end of the lectures. As it is only 12 commercial trainees in a year and we all study together- it's sometimes great to have the opportunity to ask questions in front of a small group.

  • 6b. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • When we started we were all allocated buddies, mentors and line managers to help us settle in to the changes in environment. There is always someone in the academy whom we can talk to for support or if we have any questions.

  • 7. How well does your salary/package meet your costs?
  • For me the salary fits within my needs and is much more than i was expecting- seeing as Nestle cover our university fees and our travel expenses to university- it more than covers my costs. It is different however for people that re-locate to the area as the living costs are quite high.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • We have an on site gym which has regular classes which people can attend either in lunch times or after work. However the location can sometimes make it difficult to do things outside of work as so many people live in area's spread across the South.
