  • My overall daily tasks consist of phone calls to the court, making bundles for court appearances, billing clients and often attending court and client calls to make a note.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I'm definitely more confident as part of my apprenticeship. My telephone manner has improved considerably, and in this field, I have learnt various types of etiquette in court also.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I love my programme, including the work element and the study element. It was hard to get to grips with, there are many components as part of any apprenticeship, but I enjoy it all.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I would say the programme is relatively well structured. Sometimes I believe things could be clearer, however it is easy enough to navigate.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive the greatest amount of supporter from my employer, from partners in the team to paralegals.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have weekly calls with my LAT to make sure that I am on the right track and not getting overwhelmed with tasks etc. I have great support in this respect.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Already having background information through learning and webinars has been invaluable so far in my role. Many elements of the webinars reflect what I do daily, so it is great to see my learning in practice.

  • My workplace holds networking and business development events frequently.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • The work environment is so friendly, everyone is always more than happy to help. I get countless opportunities such as attending new client meetings and court from my employer, which is brilliant.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Irwin Mitchell?
  • IM is a great firm to work for. My advice would be, when applying, be normal. Make sure you are not trying to impress someone as something you're not, friendliness and normality are invaluable traits.
