  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As an apprentice quantity surveyor, I deal with managing the money coming in and out of the site. I have been given some of the subcontractors to manage on a weekly basis I also have to do the payments each month for these subcontractors. I have to go out on-site to check that the applications that they have given are accurate to the work performed on-site.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I am currently enjoying my apprenticeship at L&Q the team that I am with on-site is very helpful and have been great at helping me with any issues that I have. the company has been helpful and supportive during my apprenticeship so far. the apprenticeship has exceeded my expectations so far because I didn't expect to have the responsibility that I have so early and I find that good as this means I have been trusted quickly.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The structure of the apprenticeship from the side of the L&Q head office side is quite poor as they have no plan of where they want me to go. However, my line manager has been great at sorting this out and moved me around different sites to gain the experience that I need.
