  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • At Murraywood Construction I complete a multitude of tasks. Mainly including Fleet Management, IT Management, Operations and Maintenance Manuals, Quality & H&S Paperwork, CCS Accreditations and more.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I started my employment on a Level 2 Business apprenticeship, once complete I started my Chartered Management Degree. Since I started in 2017, I have undertook loads of training opportunities such as Mental Health First Aider, Fire Marshall etc.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy the program, although we have the occasional mix up due to the degree being new it is still a good and informative course.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme isn't the best structured or organised. We have had many issues both with the course and with certain lecturers that have been discussed in Course Rep meetings.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer supports me all the time, I have a mentor in each department but all of the employees are willing to help me. If they are unsure, they point me in the right direction.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We receive a fair amount of support, but this can be difficult for some delegates on the course as they live further away. Sometimes the support hours are hard as we all work fulltime.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • It helps me succeed more, the course has helped my mature into a Business Leader rather than a follower. I am more willing to suggest new ideas and accept the risks if it doesn't work.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I attend many networking events especially involved with Social Value and Procurement. I attend a lot of charity events, such as the Great Manchester Sleep Out to raise money for the Booth Centre and I mentor college students.

  • Yes

  • I have fell very lucky to be employed by my employer, they do their upmost to support me and everyone is willing to be a friend. I can speak openly with my directors and find comfort that they take on board what I say.
