  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • yes as I am multi skilled I tend to work on both the electrical and mechanical side of the job, so all aspects are covered on a day to day basis. I now have a HNC in engineer 17th edition after undertaking the apprenticeship I have been able to take some of the skills into my personal life, for example I have managed to fix problems at home like lighting issues or simply fixing household appliances .

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really do enjoy my job and the people I work with, the reason for this is that my job is different every day I don't know what I will be walking into from one day to another. the experience I get from the other engineers is great and it helps with my progression.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I believe that the structure of the programme was great as the programme allowed me to learn in the classroom and also gave me the opportunity to practice my skills at my workplace. As for mentors I had an external one from an outside company, which my company supplied to ensure I was getting the correct training and I also had a mentor at work which stayed with me through the 4 years, both outstanding and helped me through the 4 years.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • great support from my employer I had a mentor to support me at work we had an outside company that we had a review with every 3 months to talk about issues at work or at college I also had meetings with the engineering manager to ensure everything was going ok all other engineers on site also supported me throughout my careers so far

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • the support of my work place was so much better than the college. there was not much in the way of support at the college, some of the tutors would help but others it was hard work to try and get some help from them. I did enjoy the college course in the end because it some how made me feel like I had completed the course with very little help and this felt like an achievement for myself, rather than been spoon feed the answers.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • at first I thought that the course was very well tailed to my industry but the more I thought about it and began to work back at my work place I found that a lot of the work that I carried out at college was not really relevant to my work place.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Britvic to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • I have done so in the past. why......they have given me the opportunity to grow in the career that I have always wanted to work in. the support from my company if far better than other companies, I know this from the discussions that I have had with other people that work in the same industry.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Britvic?
  • what you put into the company you get out of them. if you want to progress in a specific area then push your self and the company will give you there backing and also tools to do so. they tend to promote within the company. make sure that when you have an interview that you read up about the companies back round before.
