Working on CAD, setting out and surveying on site. As well as doing odd jobs and helping out other site operatives.
Yes, lots of new skills, how to use the EDM and set up, lots of new terminology and how things are built.
Thoroughly enjoy it. Love the people I work, with as it is a whole host of people up and down the country as well as overseas.
Structure on paper is okay, but the actual execution is rather poor.
Relatively low amount, have been on my own since October and have had to learn how to do things on site on my own.
Okay amount, I don't feel it has helped me in any way apart from learning about the basics which are important like concrete and other materials. However I am looking forward to progressing through the course.
Feel it is unrelated currently, as I have not learnt anything that betters my performance.
There are always things going on outside of work, plenty of the operatives get together to go to the pub, or a driving range and there are multiple team building activities.
Yes
Good money for an 18/19 year old, lovely people, a great place to work and every single day is different.
Be honest, and cater your application for what Skanska will be looking for. do some research and find something you genuinely have a good interest in.
