  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role as an IT technical sales apprentice is to be a first point of contact for the many customers of techdata while also making sure that i come across as professional and confident when on the phones, when i have a my spare time i try to get as much apprentice work done as i can.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • i feel like i have definitely improved my interpersonal skills and my confidence is building over time, i think that i have learnt more about the role of a sales person and the day to day challenges that they all may have and how they can solve them in the many different ways.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • i have been in this programme for 7 months and i have enjoyed every day that i have spent here so far, with any problems i have had my manager Sandie has been ever so helpful and understanding with her also providing support where needed, as well as sandie a lot of the people around the business that i have met have also been helpful.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The earlier stages of the apprenticeship were very busy but because it was busy you need a good structure and i feel like there was a good structure as there was a good amount of time for breaks, lunches and and any time that we needed for chats for any reasons. With regards to organisation it has also been very good

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • i have recieved a huge amount of support from my employer and its not just 1 person that has been there for support it has been a big number of people that have been there for support as people are friendly and make you feel welcome here. it makes it an easier environment knowing people around you are always happy to help.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • when working towards my qualification we have had good support from the provider as we have monthly chats to make sure that we are getting a long with things ok and they also have helpful tips that could be for anything in life which is good and it makes you feel like you can talk to them anytime.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification that the training provider is providing can become very helpful in our roles because with the qualification you learn a lot and you can easily take the things into action, they also provide tips which are very helpful and can also give you more confidence in what you are doing.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Tech Data provides so many social opprtunities that are there to get involed in, one of the examples of the opportunities that you can get involved in is the social club and this gives you a chance to meet new people and do a whole number of things and you may build relationships this way, this could become helpful for worktime also.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • I would reccomend Tech Data to anybody that is looking for a job in sales as they offer so many good things for their employees as well as being a really great place to work with nothing but lovely people, there are also many areas of the business that people can all work in.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TD SYNNEX?
  • I would tell them all about the company and how much of a great place it is to work and what they can expect, how it works as well as the ladder that they can work up here, then hopefully they apply and get the job and then begin there career.
