  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a Junior Automation Engineer at Ware I am expected to deliver large projects such as the WEMS (Ware Environmental Monitoring System) project that effects large parts of the site. I have an increased responsibility and am expected to continue gaining understanding and developing myself throughout the Junior role. I am also expected to gain expertise for the future support of the WEMS system that I am currently validating.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed my Validation understanding and testing experience. I have also developed my Project management skills. I have also organised resources such as electrical contractors to come in and install the system into the deployment areas. This is key work and must be planned into times where the areas of deployment aren’t busy. This is to avoid business disruption. I track my progress in my Personal development plan and link this work to areas of progression which I discuss with my Line manager.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • During my time at Ware I have lead the W-EMS project (Ware Environmental Monitoring System). The system is being developed and validated to replace the old W-EMS system currently in the Warehouse and Oral Solid Dose facility. The system is comprised of digital data loggers, a server, Workstation PC’s and alarms / beacons. The project also utilises panels and cabinets to store instruments and cabling. The system uses Differential pressures, Temperature and humidity probes to monitor the environment. I have really enjoyed leading this project and continuing my development in my role.
