  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is to support the HR Manager for the London and South East region. On a day to day basis I am processing Recruitment Requests, Term & Condition Changes along with supporting in Disciplinary hearings, Investigations and or Grievances. I work directly with the Unit Managers and employees throughout my area to offer support and guidance with different queries and issues they may have

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed all skills I started the job with as the role I'm in uses and therefore allows me to put these into practice which will develop them. I have also learned new skills regarding my role as I am being challenged with new things which allow me to develop myself

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • The programme that I am on I have extremely enjoyed as being in a classroom I was never told about the opportunities and experience that an apprenticeship could give me. Throughout my time here I have learned and been exposed to more real life events that have been able to develop myself in the role which as a result is giving me more of an oversight into the career in which I want to pursue

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme that I'm currently on is well structured as I have been placed with a very supportive team and they have helped give me projects and tasks that have been helpful in supporting my development in the role and the team. I believe there is room for improvement for the exposure and involvement for Apprentices as I personally see that Higher Apprentices and Graduates get more exposure in the form of programmes and development tools offered to them

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I am fully supported on a day to day basis from my Team and direct Line Manager. They have all been very supportive in making sure that I am successful in what I do and that I have a full understanding of the work I am being given and therefore carrying out

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I have received support from my direct teacher in college which has been really useful and positive when completing assignments, however outside of the classroom based learning I have found it difficult to get the full support that I would usually getting from a college and or school. I would prefer to have a monthly drop in or contact with the trainer assigned to me as I feel that working full time and having to complete assignments and projects can be hard to keep on top of

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • By having to complete assignments monthly around the work that I am doing has been beneficial as through my apprenticeship based on the topic I am working on I have tended to be allocated work that directly links to this. By doing this it has been beneficial as I can put what I'm learning into direct practice which as a result helps me to perform better in my role

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I am aware that there are events and programmes that you can work on however I haven't explored this area of the business to that extent. I have been put on projects and programmes within the business but this is for my learning and company benefit so I don't have a vast amount of knowledge on the topic.
