  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • The job title during the 8 week period was HR Work Experience, during my time in the programme i was a member of three of the teams within HR; Training & Learning, Customer Care and Recruitment. My day to day work would vary depending on which team i wa in at the time, during Training & Learning i was responsible for audit check, making sure all files were electronically tracked, aswell as making sure all employees were trained to the correct standard. In Customer Care i answered and solved queries that were receieved by employees. Finally, whilst in Recruitment i was given responsibility over leading a project to re-design and update the current recruitment website. Ontop of all of this, i was given two research projects to complete, each with a four week deadline which i then presented back to my manager and a selection of others.

  • 4. How valued do you feel by Nestle?
  • Nestlé made me feel incredibly valued by giving me work that was genuinely needed rather than just filing etc. My managers have always offered very constructive feedback aswell as praise when appropriate. Ontop of this, by being given the lead of a very important project it has made me feel very important to the team.

  • 5. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well structured, on day one you are given a complete introduction which include packets and all the information you could require aswell as training on tasks and safety as appropriate. I was given regular meetings with people from other teams aswell as my manager to see how i was feeling. Ontop of this the recruitment team had weekly meetings to also see how i was finding the programme and would take any criticisms into account.

  • 8. Are there many opportunities outside of work?
  • Yes. Whilst at work there is a great deal of friendship and this translates very well outside of the workplace in the form of meals, nights out and other activities. There were also large departmental days which assisted in building our team work and relationships to one another.

  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • This programme has given me many opportunities that would otherwise be denied to me and is the sole reason i now have a successful career in my future. I was kept on after my time on the programme within the finance department and am still enjoying my time with Nestlé.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Nestle?
  • I would reccomend that you be very open, there is no need to hide who you are as Nestlé is a very accomodating company and there is no need to worry. The interviewers are very kind and helpful and are also trying to find out not only your skills, but who you are as a person.
