  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I though very well. It was broken down into a number of different sections. The work based part where I would record my task details were probably the most interesting, but the programme also encouraged me to learn more about openreach.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

  • 9a. Would you recommend BT to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • Absolutely. I already have a few times. I think it’s an enjoyable place to work with old management. The average day is enjoyable and hugely varied. I find the combination of working alone and with assists to be ideal.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • Don’t give up. Lear as much information about the company as possible and even learn about the telecoms industry, where openreach operate and the future of telecoms. Practice interview techniques and maybe some general hand skills. Wiring a plug may be of some use but anything involving wiring will help with this. Be sure to use an idea of where you would like to go with your career within the company so that you can tell te interviewer.
