  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • My role is technically Apprentice Runner/Operations Assistant but I spend my day scheduling ADR. I am also able to work from the studios in Leavesden to gain more experience. I work in the bookings department with the post producers and client relations so I oversee all aspects of the business.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I had no experience or knowledge about post production. I have learnt about the industry and specifically sound and picture. My main role is scheduling ADR and I have also been able to sit in on some screenings. I have learnt about picture grading, QC, mastering and Dataio. I have learnt about the whole process from filming at the studios in Leavesden to when a film is released in the cinemas.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I have such a privilege to work with the most incredible talented people in the world. Not only can I meet people I can actually see them at work. I am able to experience all aspects of film making at the same time as learning how the post-production industry contributes to the wider world.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I can't fault whitehat. My coach is always at the end of a phone or on his emails for 24/7 support whenever I need it. I always feared this programme would be like school and it has been the opposite. At the beginning there was a great induction process and a lot of training and support.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I feel I am perhaps based in the wrong department in that De Lane Lea would really benefit from a technical apprentice. HR team has been ok however I joined when there was a change in representatives which you can't help. I have a coach and representative from the WB learning and development team whom I cannot fault and would not be able to live without. I feel supported and valued.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Cannot fault whitehat. Non stop care and support. Not once have I ever felt unsupported or unsure. My coach is incredible and has never once complained about anything and has offered constructive advice. Very good attitude with support, there are care numbers to call and I was introduced to a lot of the team if I need help not just my coach.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • A few things on the apprenticeship have helped me like streamlining communication or helping me understand my management style and who I work with to better help me understand my team. I definitely understand my job role more and researching my competitors has helped me with this also. I have put engaging with stakeholders into practice as I deal with a lot of high profile people.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I work in a very specific part of post production in a small team so unlike warner house or the studios we don't really have anything like that. As our industry is very fast paced we don't often have time to do things at the weekend or evenings as we are working. (but it's worth it!)

  • 9a. Would you recommend WarnerMedia to a friend?
  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • No two days are the same. I can't sit at a desk and do 9-5 I need a variety. You meet so many different, interesting, talented people which is invaluable.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to WarnerMedia?
  • Be yourself. Don't try and be confident or edgy etc just be honest and authentic as that's whats valued.
