  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Working in a corporate environment is very different from where I have worked previously, therefore I am constantly learning and developing new skills. The high level of responsibilities in my role has allowed me to develop both professionally, and personally, teaching me life skills that help me within my role such as time management, organisation, and networking. Warner Bros. is really good at developing their staff and provide learning and development sessions to all apprentices and interns to teach them vital life skills.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really enjoy working at Warner Bros. I have an amazing team who support me with my apprenticeship and treat me as a full-time staff member rather than an apprentice. There are so many opportunities to get involved and I have risen at any opportunity to learn more about the company and the industry.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • Warner Bros. is very organised and structured and have a large cohort of apprentices/interns. They are aware of how to support their apprentices to help them succeed in their qualifications and job role. In terms of my apprenticeship provider, It took me a little while to start the qualification as my tutor kept changing, however, this allowed me to settle into the work environment.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a lot of support from my employer, both from HR and from my manager/team. I work in a small team of three members so we work very closely together. I know that if I have any issues I know I can always speak to my manager about them. We have weekly team catch-ups where we look at my apprenticeship and tasks that need to be completed for the week.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Initially, the communication between myself and the training provider was not the best due to staff turnover and having a new tutor every month. However, 6-months in I have a new tutor who has been communicating well with myself and my team. A number of apprentice's are on the same course as me, therefore I know I can speak to them about my experience and any issues I have.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Through my training provider, I have attended a number of workshops that have aided my job role. Recently I attended an Excel workshop which helped me with formulas and developing a spreadsheet to a professional standard. So far, I have used the skills from this workshop a lot in the role and I'm looking forward to attending more so that I can learn new skills.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • In the 6-months that I have been here, there have been plenty of social activities that I could get involved in. There is a good mix of young interns and apprentices Warner Bros. so it's really nice to meet other people your age through social events that you may not have normally met.
