  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • planning review looking at job packs using equipment and tools, working with customers and other members of staff and networking industry. splicing using splice tools and machine , coming across different situations, communicating with other work trades I am infrastructure delivery building the network for our customer on fibre to the premises.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • since I have started my new career I have developed a range of new skills and have learned so much and will continue to learn throughout my career within openreach, communication is key I have developed these skills more since working at openreach my assessing of situations has been another skill my work employer has helped me to develop.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I fully enjoyed my programme to the maximum extent I had a great time at yarnfield an was very excited to work for openreach appreciating the opportunity I have been giving and making the most of and experience I have had either good or not so good take away thing to learn in all situations and having the best time in my working career so far.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • the organization and structure of the programme was to my satisfaction and was a really good experience for me personally I enjoyed my process of being recruited it did take quite some time after my initial application to be recruited but was more the happy with the outcome and results of my application.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • I receive a good amount of support from my employer some better in areas then others which are to be desired, all in all a good experience with my employer so far have not had any negative situation on which I have had positive or non positive support from my employer as which to comment but as a whole fully satisfied with support received up to date.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I receive some support from training provider when working to qualifications some in more areas then others which are to be desired but on a general good communication information and support from the learning and development department within my employer I feel some areas could do with more supports towards when working to your qualifications for people for more disadvantaged backgrounds.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel my qualification will help me a lot in my job role regarding to job satisfaction, feeling recognized within the company and appreciated as a piece in the bigger puzzle which help connect us as one team, making health and wellbeing alote better at work and home feeling a sense of achievement.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • i've not seen many extra activities to get involved in which is disappointing at times there have been a few events here and there, at times which are good but not always for new recruits who starting new role as a lot of information to take in first three months.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • A great company to work for good job and career prospects, great people staff kind well organized a helpful polite company, know how to look after the staff and look at people more then just employees but as human beings, diversity in the work place well balanced fair and good health and safety procedures to keep us and everybody else safe whilst at work.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT?
  • Time keeping is essential being early helps , well spoke polite kind and good manors take you very far , presentation smart a and neat formal when need to be, knowing how to present information verbally and visual. being yourself good eye contact and clear speaking and listening skills will always help been committed to applying don't be put off buy application process.
