  • In the first year of the apprenticeship you spend it at north Lindsey college, with monthly visits to the training centre in hull

  • I have developed knowledge behind electronics and electrical skill I came to this apprenticeship with practical skills in these areas but limited theory experience.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy the programme, and I am really looking forward to getting away from college and getting on site to progress in this field

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • It’s structured very well with you spending a year/ 18 months at college with frequent visits to the training centre to keep you in touch with the company.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support is readily available from the employer, via email phone calls and visits to college.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • Any information we require/request is usually provided with no hassle and explained well. A couple of our tutors from the college go above and beyond what they are required to do.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualifications we will get will ensure we have the foundation knowledge and advanced knowledge that will put us in a great position when we first get on-site

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I believe there is extra-curricular activities available for example some of the apprentices have set up a 6 a side football team that take part in weekly games

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Siemens take real interest in the people they employ. The company really looks after there employees. The career opportunity’s available are great with encouraged support for you to progress.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Siemens Gamesa?
  • Be yourself, be confident in yourself and do your research.
