  • I am a service delivery engineer for Openreach. I provide customers with telephony and broadband on behalf of over 400 service providers working in peoples homes and businesses.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have learnt completely new skills. Previously I was a musician in the British Army. All telecoms training is brand new.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoyed the programme. I felt it was very structured and enabled me to develop the skills to carry out the job to the best of my ability, and to the highest standards.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • As structured as could have been. It a very learn something new every day job, however the training gave me the core skills to start with.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Support is always provided whether home or work.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • A lot of support is provided. My provider and assessor was particularly helpful. She was informative and had a lot of knowledge about the job.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe the qualification consolidated training and learning, making me feel secure and confident about the tasks I perform in my job.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • I haven't yet joined these but the option to par take in such events is available.

  • Yes

  • 100% yes. My employer, job and everything about it is fantastic. Its an enjoyable organisation to be part of that really encourages you to develop, improve and be your best.

  • Do it, it will change your life. Great job, great training, great pay and benefits.
