  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As an IT Technical Sales apprentice, we spent the first few months in classroom training preparing us for the sales floor. We have met and learnt from many different people within Tech Data from previous apprentices to the MD. Now we spend each day completing different tasks set for us whether that's in a sales team or continuing with apprentice work.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I greatly enjoy the programme and working for Tech Data as a whole, it's such a great atmosphere around the office and everyone is so nice and always willing to help you with anything. The Call out days are by far the best as it brings out the competitiveness of everyone as we all want to win and i find myself avidly waiting for the next call out day.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The programme is very well organised thanks to our apprenticeship manager! She's always pushing us to succeed in the business and outside of work. She's known as our "work mum" among the apprentices as she's always there for us. After speaking to the first cohort of apprentices, its clear Tech Data have greatly revamped the programme from the first year to best fit our group of apprentices.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • We meet our course assessor monthly with face to face meetings. In these meetings we cover a great deal from our apprentice work and what can be amended if need be to what's going on in the news and then progressing from that into covering British values and ethics as well as safeguarding.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I feel that through our natural training sessions we receive each month we greatly gain a vast amount of knowledge over the day that we perfect and then put into action later in the day. Each session is very fun yet educational and there is always a competitive attitude towards the day as we are often put up against each other in teams.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There are many extra-curricular activities and benefits for working at Tech Data. This spans from the social club where there are always events going on that you can join in on to the games we play during the call out days in order for us to win the prizes supplied by the vendors.

  • 9a. Would you recommend TD SYNNEX to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • As my first job it is everything i could want from somewhere to work and i believe it suits me perfectly as i have come from a very competitive sporting background and managed to adapt to working while keeping my competitive side for sales. I could not recommend working at Tech Data enough.

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to TD SYNNEX?
  • Put in your very best and be determined to get the job through your application. Prioritize Tech Data and show to them what you are capable of as even if sales is not your forte if they see potential they will commit to you in the role and as a person.
