  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • As a member of the service support team I assist Babington's learners with their problems and queries, along with gathering feedback on their apprenticeship programmes. I also enrol learners onto the online platforms and assist my fellow team members with their learner caseloads, such as assessing the engagement of enrolled learners

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • Yes, my confidence making phone calls has increased, I can now comfortably perform in my job role without requiring assistance from my line manager, my functional skills have also come along greatly in my time with the company, such as my written English, although the greatest improvement I've seen has been in my IT skills.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • Babington runs training events for all staff and other smaller social events at occasions such as Christmas, they are also quite involved in running charity events. I was also offered the opportunity to go to the BBC studios in Nottingham and film a segment for Sunday Politics East Midlands, which was a massively enjoyable experience and at the same time, relevant to my qualification.

  • 9a. Would you recommend Babington to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • They have a strong focus on promoting from within, they're a fast growing company that seem to care for their employees, the senior leadership team are open to ideas and happy to talk with all employees, there is a joyful and lively office atmosphere and hard work is rewarded

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babington?
  • I would look to take a role that involves a qualification, as then you know you are guaranteed progression and paths upwards, I would also encourage anyone applying to take any qualification seriously, as if you stay on top of it for the whole duration its very manageable and at the same time, rewarding and career relevant.
