  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Managing a team who focus on customer service and pastoral support, assisting with learner enquiries, issues, complaints and compliments. Liaising with departments throughout the business to support with driving continuous improvement. Developing reports and trends analysis around customer satisfaction and working with colleagues to develop action plan to put the necessar solutions/actions in place.

  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
  • I have developed alot in terms of my confidence with managing a team as well as the importance of evaluation and reflection. I have development my knowledge and understanding around different theories and practices, utilising these with my team to encourage high performance as well as understanding how to effectively manage diffferent situations.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • It's great to have the opportunity to dedicate time to my own personal development and liaise with my peers and manager around different experiences and techniques for leading and managing. I like the nature of being able to undertake my qualification at my own pace and relate it to my day to day role.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I have regular calls and reviews with my trainer and am fully aware of what is expected of me as well as actions outstanding that I need to complete. I have clear visibility of my progress through the online platform and have attended useful workshops which have really aided my learning.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • Being employed by a company who provide apprenticeships, this is promoted hugely throughout the organisation as it's important that the right amound of time is provided to apprentices to undertake their learning and development. I have had a great amount of support from my line manager and employer as a whole to get the most out of my Leadership & Management qualification.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • Being aware of different principles and theories that I can relate back to my day to day role has been hugely beneficial. I have also become more reflective and aware of the impact of my own personal development and how this can positively support and develop my team. I am so happy with the knowledge, skills and behaviours I have developed so far as a result of undertaking my apprenticeship qualification.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • There's alot going on at work on an ah-hoc basis for example, meals out, charity activities and different sports-related activities within different regions. There are also many professional networking events attended by colleagues throughout the organisation to help build positive working and social relationships with others throughout the sector.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Babington is a great place to work with a culture of working together and supporting each other to achieve. I believe that all employees have a genuine passion to do a great job and are dedicated to helping others. Babington actively support and promote the importance and effectiveness of apprenticeships with it being at the centre of what they do.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Babington?
  • Look into the background of the company; How has it grown? What does it specialise in? What are the core values and company objectives? This will help to understand how you could see yourself in a potential role with the company and support with making an application more specific so it stands out.
