  • 1. Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
  • Currently, I am undergoing the college training program which is an extensive course which covers; Electrical, maintenance and hand skills work. I have also been completing a Rail specific course.

  • I have learnt how to wire a circuit with different types of cables, this has allowed me to gain an understanding of what it would be like at depot.

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I really do enjoy my program, this is because it allows me to learn about something which I have a passion for.

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • The program is structured very well, this allows me to be able to cover all of the different points and requirements needed within the allotted hours.

  • 5. How much support do you receive from your employer?
  • My employer is always able to phone call and communicate via email, he attends college weekly to chat if needed with the different apprentices.

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • My training provider had provided me with different resources which are relevant and comprehensive, allowing me to complete my work with the correct resources.

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • The qualification has completely helped me with the work, this is because i have learnt many skills which i would not have unless i completed this course.

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • To my knowledge, at the moment there are none due to the fact that I am still attending college, however I do have friends within the depots who complete social talks with colleagues.

  • Yes


  • 9b. Why?
  • Bombardier is a brilliant company which allows for progression by learning actively and having lecturers who are actually interested by the subject rather than being there due to being paid.


  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Bombardier?
  • If you are applying for bombardier, express your real train interest and express your team working abilities, these are attributes which the company strives for.
