  • 2. Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

  • 3. To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
  • I enjoy my programme very much as I feel it gives me time to often reflect on my recent work and apply it to my work for the apprenticeship and also it helps to to review how far I am in my journey to progression in my career in the funeral industry

  • 4. How well organised/structured is your programme?
  • I feel that the structure of the programme is good but I feel could do with some improvement, I often feel I’m not sure where I am up to on my apprenticeship and that my work isn’t sent to me with clear structure on where this fits within my course

  • 6. How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
  • I feel the support has been varying as unfortunately I have had lots of change in my training provider, I believe I’ve had three now before the end of my qualification. So the way my work has been delivered to me isnt always the same, all have been very good but lack some consistency

  • 7. How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
  • I believe it helps me to reflect on my recent work, and also explore other parts of my role which I hadn’t had the opportunity to yet. Which I can then apply to my every day job. I feel that having this will help me to excel in my job

  • 8. Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
  • As a team at work we do engage with eachother socially out side of work, a number of us attend bingo together and we often all meet for a meal after work. I feel this helps us bond better as a team and therefore preform better together within our work environment

  • 9a. Would you recommend Co-op to a friend?
  • Yes

  • 9b. Why?
  • We receive a fair salary, receive very good support for the company, there is clear lines of professional development so you have a good idea of how your career will progress. They have good ethnical and moral values which match my own, and we are encouraged to be proud of the company

  • 10. What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Co-op?
  • To be aware that to work in funeral care is a commitment, that sometimes we have to work extra or more than we were expecting in order to give our clients the attention to detail which they expect. I would also advice them to ask to learn about other roles along side their own
